Soccer Camp - 6-12 yrs old
Taking place on the artificial pitch and grass fields at the RA, this is a recreational soccer camp kids won’t soon forget! With a proper coach to camper ratio, our staff is excellent at grouping campers according to their age and ability. This ensures each camper is challenged and has a blast playing the beautiful game of soccer.
The soccer sessions are led by top-notch RA Camp Counsellors with collegiate and competitive club playing experience whose knowledge and love of the game are infectious. On-pitch activities include warm-up, speed and coordination development, technical development, small-group training exercises, and small-sided games. Once on the pitch, campers will be divided into groups (based on age and skill level) then all come together for a fun scrimmage. This camp has a focus on Long Term Development to ensure each child receives developmentally appropriate training. Our programs will be challenging but achievable with the goal to boost your child’s self-esteem and most importantly, fun experience. The objective is to get the kids on the ball as much as possible, allowing them the opportunity to learn in a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere! With over 25 hours spent on the pitch, shin pads and cleats are recommended.
Children will get the chance to splash around and cool off with a daily swim in our two outdoor swimming pools. Children ages 6 & 7 must wear the provided lifejacket (not floaties) at all times, regardless of individual swimming abilities and will remain in the shallow end. Children ages 8 and older will participate in a weekly swim assessment (each and every week) to determine if they can enter the deep end and are exempted from wearing a lifejacket. The swim test includes demonstrating the ability to swim 25 meters consistently in a confident manner while submerging their head underwater at least twice without goggles.
