There will be no programming or membership play on Monday May 19 - Victoria Day. Court rentals will be available during building hours.

Drop-in Play

Open to everyone! No membership required.
​Looking for a fun way to meet other players as well as enjoy all levels of play but might not have a partner to play with? The RA Pickleball Centre is excited to be able to offer casual drop-in play for a daily fee (pre-booking is required).
DROP-IN: ALL LEVEL PLAY (ALP)
The All Level Play structure allows players with all skill levels to play together in a fun, social atmosphere.

Games are created by using a rotational paddle rack where players upon completion of their 12 minute game, return their paddles to the paddle rack, where a volunteer ambassador will shuffle paddles around to create a new foursome. 
  • Open to persons 18 years or older

​DROP-IN: NOVICE PLAY
Some experience necessary – Individuals must know Pickleball fundamentals, rules of the game as well as have game play experience to be eligible to book this session. If you have never played before please check out our Intro to Pickleball Clinics.

Designed for players rated 2.0-2.9, these drop-in times allow the novice player to play in a fun, social atmosphere.   • Do not enter courts early.
  • All participants are required to leave the court once the one hour time period is over. This allows the next group to start and avoid any confusion
  • An extra charge ($30 per court per hour) will be applied to any participants who use any vacant court before or after their booking time
  • No formal coaching, organized league play or programming can be done privately through play-as-you-go court rentals

This recreational program emphasis on community and casual play, "Social Pickleball" provides the perfect platform for players to enhance their skills while forging new friendships on the court. Intro to Pickleball: Level 1
​These 4-week clinics are a great place to start as you enter the world of Pickleball. 1 hour of coaching/week for four weeks in which you will learn basic shots, rules of the game and get information on equipment. We supply paddles and balls for these clinics. You provide energy and enthusiasm. Come dressed to move - comfortable workout clothing, non-marking runners and a water bottle.​​

Pickleball: Level 2
​Continuing from the foundational skills established in the Intro Course and minimum 3.0-3.4 pickleball rating, our 4-week clinics are designed to further refine and expand your abilities on the court. Delving deeper into advanced techniques, each session focuses on mastering essential shots like the third shot drop, precise volleying, strategic lobbing, and confident overhead shot making.

​Prerequisite: Introduction or level 1 course required and 3.0-3.4 pickleball rating, must have own equipment.

Led by RA Pickleball's Head Professional, Cody Barbeau, this 8-week clinic is expertly crafted to elevate your Pickleball skills. Each session is designed to hone in on crucial techniques including serving, dinking, volleying, and footwork through a variety of engaging drills and exercises. Practice routines such as drop and hit, deep serve accuracy, backhand dink workouts, and quick crosscourt volleys will be employed to maximize your performance on the court.

​This program is designed for individuals with a rating of 3.5-3.9.

​Pickleball Leagues

The RA Pickleball League is open to everyone. A pickleball membership is not a pre-requisite to be able to register. ​

The RA offers a wide range of league play for a variety of skill levels. Each division within the league is intended to promote healthy competition in a fun and social atmosphere. A mixture of formats will be used to make each week interesting, including:
  • Randomly assigned partners/opponents each game (of either gender)
  • A set partner for all or a portion of the evening
  • Mixed doubles
  • Mens' and womens' doubles

High Performance Training

The Pickleball HP program is designed for individuals with rating of 4.0 and higher wishing to compete in tournaments or for someone looking to increase their skill development for the purpose of competing. ​

High Performance Training Program
​For competitive players with rating of 4.0 and higher.
​
The Pickleball High Performance Training program has been developed by NCCP Certified Coach Cody Barbeau and follows the training principles of The National Competitive Training League (NCTL) which was founded by Cody in 2019. The NCTL has been very successful over the years and the RA is very excited to have Cody join our team and help take the league to the next level with a permanent home on our courts.
 
The program promotes a positive, collaborative and competitive environment to allow tournament players to compete at their highest ability. Weekly sessions will be shaped around the main pillars: Physical, Technical, Tactical, Theoretical, Psychological and grass roots skill development. These sessions will be a mixture of game play, skill development, drills and tournament style play. Participants will also receive individual profiles to keep track of their development throughout the program.

All memberships are played in our Pickleball Centre. Please note: All Memberships break for a two week closure from: December 22, 2025 - January 4, 2026.
SOCIAL Pickleball Memberships - 2.0-5.0 Skill
Looking to enjoy pickleball in a fun, friendly, and social environment? Our Social Pickleball Membership is designed for players ranked 2.0 to 5.0 who want to connect with others, stay active, and enjoy the game in a relaxed setting. Whether you're a rising intermediate or a seasoned competitor, these sessions offer the perfect balance of fun play and community. Each session features regular game and partner rotations, coordinated by one of the RA’s dedicated Volunteers Ambassadors, ensuring everyone gets a chance to meet new people and enjoy diverse matchups. While the focus is on fun, we do ask that participants come with a basic understanding of the game and prior playing experience to help keep the games engaging for all skill levels. Join us for some great rallies, lots of laughs, and a welcoming pickleball community!

INTERMEDIATE Pickleball Memberships - 3.0-3.9 skill
Ready to take your game up a notch? Our Intermediate Pickleball Membership is designed for players ranked 3.0 to 3.9 who are looking for faster-paced, more competitive play while still enjoying the camaraderie of a community setting.
These sessions are ideal for individuals with solid pickleball fundamentals and a desire to improve through consistent, spirited competition. Game and partner rotations are organized by one of the RA’s experienced Volunteer Ambassadors, ensuring balanced and engaging matchups throughout each session.

To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask all members to assess their skill level honestly and register for the appropriate membership. At the start of the season, our Head Professional will review and confirm that all players meet the required rating criteria. Come ready to play hard, connect with others, and enjoy every moment on the court!

Want to learn more about the rules and techniques of Pickleball? Sign-up for private, semi-private or group lessons with one of our instructors. Our instructors provide lessons to all age groups and for all levels of play.  The lessons given depend on a player’s ability or their preference for a specific area of instruction. All lessons are one (1) hour in length.

Cody provides leadership to the RA Pickleball facility, serving as both Head Professional and Head Coach of the High Performance Pickleball Program. This elite program gathers top-tier players, honing their skills and mindset for success at the National level. With a commitment to fostering unity, Cody provides guidance to our programming, volunteers, and coaching staff, fostering a 'Stronger Together' atmosphere. Devoting 18 hours a week to the courts, Cody is available to support you on your journey whether you are new to the game, advanced or looking to volunteer! 

As a Pickleball Selkirk Sports Sponsored Player, Cody has secured numerous gold medals in local and regional competitions, alongside a silver at the National Level, showing his ability as a formidable competitor. For six years, Cody has been coaching pickleball, demonstrating his dedication to the sport's growth. He pioneered the National Competitive Training League in 2019, now flourishing as the HP Pickleball Program at the RA Centre.
Beyond pickleball, Cody brings a wealth of coaching experience from tennis and golf, spanning five and twenty-five years, respectively. His athletic achievements, including provincial tennis and golf championships, alongside a gold medal in Golf at the World Masters Games, underscore his versatility and skill across disciplines.

With over four decades of coaching experience, Cody is driven by a passion to help players shatter barriers and elevate their mental and technical abilities, empowering them to achieve their aspirations.   • Certified Pickleball Coach (PPR USA, NCCP Canada), Certified Pickleball Referee, Member of PCO, USAP and NASO.

Joane has been playing pickleball for 7 years and teaching the sport for 3 years. She is passionate about teaching both adults and youth. She enjoys competing in Canada and the USA. She earned her Pickleball Coaching Certification from PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry, USA) and NCCP Canada. Her organized lessons focus on understanding basics, developing fundamental skills and improving techniques to establish a solid foundation.  She is also a pickleball Certified Referee (CR)who works at many large tournaments in Canada, USA and is currently the Head Referee for the professional pickleball league in Canada  - CNPL (Canadian National Pickleball League). Joane’s highest credentialed referee status and extensive experience allows her to share current rules and strategies to win games. She speaks English, French and basic Dutch.

Joane offers a simple and efficient approach to learning the game. She enjoys helping others learn the sport and improve their performance (skill, strategy and knowledge). Ravi is an enthusiastic pickleball player and experienced coach. Having earned an IPTPA level 2 certificate and three years of coaching pickleball, he has won second place in the Canada Nationals and several more medals. 
Ravi also has 6 years of squash coaching with a US Squash Level 1 Certification. He has also coached badminton and cricket for many years. 

​Ravi is an energetic coach who believes in the importance of having strong fundamentals. He makes the process enjoyable while explaining the nuances of the different styles the game can be played. He plans his courses meticulously to suit your needs and achieve your goals

​Michael is excited and proud to be a Pickleball Coach at the RA Centre.
 
For the past six years Michael has been teaching pickleball skills to students, focusing on strategies to help players grow and improve. Not everyone wants to be a tournament champion, but no one likes to lose every time they step on the court. Michael’s goal is to help everyone “have fun winning”.
 
Michael has numerous tournament medals including gold at the Ontario Provincials. He has over ten years’ experience playing pickleball and has a lifetime of competitive sports experience.

Claudio is excited to be part of the excellent team of pickleball coaches at the RA Centre. He brings with him impressive experience and skill level in several different sports, combined with extensive coaching experience.

Claudio was introduced to pickleball several years ago in Florida and quickly became hooked as he learned how addictive the sport is. He not only enjoys playing but has enthusiastically recruited countless others to the game throughout the past 3 years. Through regular game playing, Claudio has been informally passing on tips and strategies to beginners and intermediate players alike. This, combined with his 17 years of coaching competitive minor hockey, motivated him to pursue his IPTPA Level 1 Coaching Certification.

Claudio provides precise instruction with emphasis on correct stance and footwork which will allow players to quickly develop their skills and abilities and increase their enjoyment of the game. His goal is to make Pickleball fun and to promote friendly competition for an overall positive experience.

Hiba Komati fell in love with pickleball in 2018, captivated by its fast pace and dynamic gameplay. She quickly immersed herself in the sport, competing in major tournaments like the Canada Nationals and US Open, and earning multiple gold medals in Canadian events including 3 medals during the 2024 Canada Nationals Championship.
 
Hiba is a certified NCCP Level 2 pickleball instructor (National Coaching Certification Program). With over 5 years of experience as an advanced player and more than 3000 hours on the court, she offers extensive expertise in every session.

Her coaching philosophy emphasizes technical skills, mental toughness, and strategic thinking. Hiba’s holistic approach fosters discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship while tailoring sessions to meet each student’s unique needs.
Her goal is not just to refine skills but also to build confidence and empower players.

Mike began his pickleball journey in 2019 and comes from a high level multi-sport background as an athlete, coach and official. He is a testament to the fact that you can excel at pickleball without a racquet sport background.

Mike has a strong focus on developing the fundamentals that serve as a foundation to developing more advanced skills. His patience and ability to provide clear direction and effective drills ensure his students are properly challenged as they acquire new skills and learn to integrate them into game play. 

With Mike, you will learn the skills to play the game and the strategy to employ them well.

Ian & Jen are certified NCCP Level 1 pickleball instructors (National Coaching Certification Program) with 4 years of experience in playing and drilling.  As a “duo-coaching” team, they enjoy helping players who are interested in learning the fundamentals of the game and improving their overall play. Ian & Jen’s enthusiasm is evident in every pickleball lesson and clinic, ensuring players develop a growth mindset and tap into their full potential. 

​Jen’s 30 years of teaching experience shines through her dynamic and positive coaching methods that cater to a wide range of learners. Ian’s 30 years of management training experience allows him to effectively communicate stroke mechanics for control, game strategies, and drilling techniques that help players meet with success on the courts.
